I MOVED TO TEXAS!
I moved to Texas y'all (see what I did there?)! I never really imagined myself living in Texas. After spending nearly a decade in California, I vowed to never live further than thirty minutes away from the ocean. Yes. The same ocean I only ever went near to go to the beach side bars...to drink…inside...BUT that's not what this post is about! Alas, I met a boy and he lived in Texas so what was a girl to do?! I decided to turn in my flip-flops for cowboy boots and make the plunge into the Lone Star State. I actually have only worn cowboy boots once since moving here, but you get the point!
I made the big move November 2017 so I'm still very much new to the area.
Living in Dallas for the last year has been a rough transition, but also amazing in a lot of aspects. There definitely is something to be said of Southern charm.
Since I am experiencing so many new and exciting things in my life, I thought what better way to document every moment than finally starting my personal blog. Yes, the same one I've been meaning to start for years. Don't get me wrong, I've written 230483207 blog posts for companies I've worked for and for freelance clients, but the idea of writing about my personal life has always made me leery.
Me: Will people like me?
Me in my head: Well obvi they will! You're a hoot!
Me: Will anyone even care to read it?
Me in my head: Well your mom and sisters will since they are contractually obligated to love anything you do.
Me: Can I stick with it and give the blog the attention it needs?!
Me in my head: Well, you currently manage two Marketing departments, have three freelance clients, just bought a house that your one year old puppy has made her life’s mission to destroy, but who needs sleep right?
The thing is, this has always been a goal of mine so I'm doing it. I'm going to post my tips and tricks for starting your own blog, marketing yourself, and building a following like I do for many of my clients. I will also be posting about the MANY amazing places that I have traveled to.
Ignore the blurry photo please. It's a screen grab of a boomerang. We were on the side of the highway and I couldn't really do a great photo shoot with my real camera lol! But I was so happy to finally be in Texas!
